| I want to know what kind of runner you are. Do you like the lightning fast street sam, or the slow and methodical mage? Do you prefer the smooth talking face, or the greasy rigger?
What kind of shadowrunner are you? good or evil?
What kind of shadowrunner are you? silent or explosive?
what kind of runner do you tend to play? _________________ Digital Doom the creators may die, but the game lives on.

| Personally speaking I've preferred to play builds based around speed and stealth. That said I still mix it up quite a bit. I've played demo experts, heavy weapons, melee specialists etc.
But I've definitely always preferred a focus on being as sneaky as possible. |

| Well on of my favorite rescent characters was a speed sam, melee and some demo. Paranoid, generally happy, ruthless. So not really good or evil. My next favorite is a voodoo priest, following the loa papa ghede, doesn't ever kill metahumans, unless the have intentionally tried to kill him. So not the random guard on a run, but the back stabbing johnson. it is on. So I guess the answer is complex characters I like playing the best. |

| So far, my favorite make was my Gunslinger Adept. His name was Virgil "Trigger" Blair, Brittish born runner in Seattle. He was wicked good with pistols, and could take a hit pretty well. He usually used dual Sliverguns.
Other than that, I like my Troll. Might be an almost complete combat monster, but damn can he take the knocks. I've played a mage before, but that game was short lived, so never got my feet wet with that archtype. I've also played a technomancer for a time, and it was fun. He saw the Matrix as a musical symphony. |

| If you can't tell, when I was a runner (Way, way back before starting to GM) I was a decker. (Starting in 1st edition)
I took my old hackers name from when I was a hacker in the 80's (for real) and made a decker in Shadowrun. Thus Digital Doom was born.
I set my node up to be the river Styxx, the gateway to the underworld. I took the grimm reaper you see at the left for my Icon, that I have been using since 1989. I have always been a computer freak, so a hacker was the best archtype for me.
I'll post more on that later. Have to work on code for Shadowrun Survival Guide some more. _________________ Digital Doom the creators may die, but the game lives on.

| My personal opinion is that a team that draws too much attention to itself is going to get fried by someone. So I tend to stay away from the "Hey, look at me!", blow-everything-up crowd. My characters have generally had a more than average intelligence and stealth component - breaking-and-entering specialists, security experts, faces. Silencers and nonlethality are the modus operandi; you start killing people, people take it personally.
If I can sneak my way past a guard, perfect. If I can sleaze my way past a guard, OK. If I can knock a guard out and slip plastic containment manacles on him and a piece of duct tape over his mouth, it'll do. And if I have to kill the guard, well, there's probably a different way.

| My generally favorite archetype isn't someone terribly flashy. Despite the results of most of my actions, i prefer characters who have a general air of 'don't f@#$ with me'. They each have a general signature, a way of going about things in a unique manner. |

| i used to play the fps' (ie doom, duke nukem, quake, etc) and i always crept through the scenes trying to kill without being seen. i know lots of folks like to run-n-gun, but there's always been a satisfaction for me in getting through a level with as little damage or notice as possible. one of my most favorite pc, and later console, games was thief - that game was made for me, the object being to stay hidden and silent
i keep to this style somewhat in shadowrun, though most teams i've played with do not share this style. so i've adapted and played different archetypes.
but any run that involves a high degree of stealth - i'm down |

| yeah, since i've been playing shadowrun i've yet to see a stealth-based team try to sneak into and/or out of any situation
most of the teams i've run with have been the 'guns blazing, take no prisoners' type |

| Its been my experience (in 2nd edition at least). That the situation may start out stealth but when the DM started loosing to much to the team he maid it a run and gun...
How i wish i could get on a team that was all "hush hush don't say a word..." With a tac-net, and hand signals lol that would be a great team.
I know a couple of runners that could pull it off on this site! Phantoms got one and Gala has her ninja Orc and T-hawk has Shadow san... Those are the ones I'm particularly fond of and have worked with... All at different times and with different Characters, but i know they have them, and that's like three people maybe two and a half since T probably cant play now...
that's almost half a team right there stealth based team i mean lol hmmm? wheels are turning in my head now... |

| Been playing around for a day or so with a run but im no GM. I figure there is enough time between posts for me to look up rules, and get back. I tried the concept in a live online game, and got sorta thrashed by my players who were forth edition vets lol That's how i know a stealth team could pull this off. Getting thrashed by some other GM's in game was a little off putting to the whole idea of running a game. but i might be able to hook something up. Over the course of say a week! Basic concepts are known to me already, but again. I don't think i know enough about forth to run it. That being said its a hobby of mine to over come things i cant do i pick my battles lol and this looks doable. so keep a close watch on the want ads lol
